Dayton Audio Wire-Wound Non-Inductive Resistors – Matched Pairs

Designed for use in no-compromise crossover designs, Dayton Audio's Precision 10-watt Resistors are ideal for high-end loudspeaker applications. With extremely low inductance, non-magnetic construction, tight 1% tolerance, and durable ceramic core, these resistors deliver stable, transparent sound even under thermal stress.

  • Ultra-low inductance to preserve tonal accuracy
  • 50 mm long leads for easy point-to-point wiring
  • Nickel-chromium wiring with copper endcaps and leads
  • Ceramic core and non-flammable coating for long life
  • Moisture-resistant and corrosion-resistant build
  • 1% precision matching done in-house before shipment

Instructions for Selecting Resistor Value

The lower the resistor value, the softer the horn output — as it bleeds more signal to ground. The higher the resistor value, the louder the horn output — as it restricts signal from escaping to ground.

To select the correct value, match the sensitivity (dB) of your woofer or complete speaker system using the chart below. These are for the parallel leg of your L-pad circuit. For Shinjitsu Audio speakers (Little Hiro, Hiro, Hiro Junior, Crane, Lantern), refer to the product page for sensitivity. For custom systems with Horn X2, estimate your woofer’s real-world sensitivity.

Note: Sold as matched pairs. No returns on resistor orders.

Recommended Resistor Values by Sensitivity

Woofer / Speaker Sensitivity Recommended Resistor (Ohms)
87–88 dB 0.5 Ω
89–90 dB 1 Ω
91–92 dB 1.5 Ω
93–94 dB 2.4 Ω
95–96 dB 3.3 Ω
97 dB or higher 5 Ω
