Baffle Step Compensation Module
A simple way to fix thin or bright sound in almost any speaker.
1. The Problem
Some speakers sound a little thin or bright, even when everything else in the system is good. Voices lose body, music feels lighter than it should, and the speaker never quite fills the room the way you expect.
2. Why This Happens
This isn’t your fault — and it’s not your amplifier’s fault either. Most speakers lose a little natural fullness simply because of the size of their front panel.
And to make matters worse, many manufacturers skip correcting this because it makes the speaker look more “sensitive” on the spec sheet. So the speaker ends up sounding leaner than it was ever meant to.
3. The Solution
The Shinjitsu BSC module puts back the natural fullness your speaker should have had from day one. You tell us your cabinet size and woofer model, and we tune it specifically for your speakers.
4. Why It Works
The module gently restores the “lost” body in the lower-mid and bass region. It doesn’t touch the treble and it doesn’t change the personality of your speaker — it simply completes the sound.
- Vocals gain warmth and weight
- Bass sounds fuller without getting boomy
- Instruments feel richer and more lifelike
- The whole speaker becomes easier to listen to
5. Your Result
You get the sound your speaker was always capable of — fuller, smoother, and more natural — without needing EQ or bigger amps.
How We Build It
Every BSC module is housed inside a 3D-printed composite enclosure and filled with a hard-setting epoxy mix. This creates a quiet, vibration-free chamber that keeps the inductor stable and the sound clean.
It’s a modern solution designed for long life, low noise, and rock-solid performance — far beyond what a loose coil hot-glued inside a cabinet can offer.
Choose Your Version
- Internal — installs inside the speaker cabinet.
- External — sits on a walnut plinth with binding posts and a swappable resistor slot.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will this change my treble?
No — it only corrects the lower part of the woofer’s range.
Does it help bigger speakers too?
Yes. Unless the front baffle is unusually wide, almost every speaker benefits.
Do I need any technical knowledge?
No. Just tell us your cabinet’s inside dimensions and woofer model.
Can I fine-tune it?
Yes — the external version lets you swap resistors to adjust the strength of the effect.
