Speaker Generator – Box, Port, Woofer, and Crossover Made Simple

Stop guessing. Build your speaker with confidence. This page gives you everything in one place: box and port sizing, woofer compatibility, zobel correction, baffle step compensation, and plain-English guidance.

Speaker Generator

Your path to a custom horn speaker, simplified.

Choose your bass goals and room size, and we’ll give you a proven cabinet + woofer pairing designed to integrate perfectly with the HornX2 PRO.

Flare Ends:

Tip: Flared ports act longer than they measure. This tool adjusts automatically — subtracting ¾” for a single flare, or 1.5” for double flares.

Zobel Calculator

Flatten woofer impedance rise

DC Resistance Re (Ω):

Voice Coil Inductance Le (mH):

A Zobel network (resistor + capacitor across the woofer) helps flatten the rising impedance at high frequencies. This keeps the crossover working as intended and makes integration smoother. Not every woofer needs one, but this gives you the right values if yours does.

Baffle Step Compensation Calculator

Balance bass and mids for your cabinet

Baffle Width:

Baffle Step Compensation corrects the natural roll-off of bass when sound waves wrap around your cabinet edges. Without it, speakers often sound thin or shouty. This calculator shows the step frequency and suggests a simple coil + resistor to balance the sound.

Frequently Asked Questions

The HornX2 PRO makes it nearly impossible to fail. The horn and crossover are optimized. Your woofer just needs to meet a few basics — the Woofer Checker confirms before you buy.

No. The crossover is built into the HornX2 PRO. Just connect your woofer — it works.

Got a mystery woofer? Punch in the specs — the Woofer Checker doesn’t care about brand. If it matches, it works.

No. Sub drivers usually have the wrong Qts or sensitivity for this system.

Complete the Build

You’ve designed your woofer and cabinet. Now it’s time to finish the speaker. The HornX2 PRO Engine takes over from ~1.5 kHz upward, providing the crossover and horn-loaded clarity you can’t get from a woofer alone.
