Crane — Wideband Truth, Horn-Loaded AMT Precision

A full-range experience that feels seamless, spacious, and alive.

The Problem

Most AMT speakers sound quick and airy, but struggle with the handoff to the woofer. AMTs don’t like crossing too low, and woofers don’t like playing too high — leaving a subtle but audible gap in presence and clarity.

Why It Happens

AMTs naturally roll off when pushed too low, and even great woofers begin to beam and lose dispersion in the upper midrange. One driver is straining, the other is struggling, and your ear feels the disconnect immediately — even if you can’t describe it.

The Crane Solution

The Crane solves this by horn-loading the AMT itself. The horn gives the AMT the extension and control it needs to meet the extended-range woofer naturally — right at the ideal frequency. No gap, no strain, no “AMT shout,” and no missing presence region.

Why It Works

Horn-loading matches the AMT’s dispersion to the woofer — and when dispersion matches, tone matches. The speaker sounds like one instrument instead of two drivers negotiating a compromise. No tricks, no tuning band-aids — just solid acoustic engineering.

Your Result

  • Lifelike midrange presence
  • Effortless, extended treble
  • Wide, stable imaging
  • Real bass weight and authority
  • A seamless, fatigue-free listening experience

Construction & Materials

Cabinet

Built from ¾″ Baltic Birch plywood for superior rigidity and damping. Never MDF — only real structural material chosen for performance and longevity.

Front Baffle

A ¼″ solid exotic hardwood slab, sliced from a single board and hand-sanded. Species vary — walnut, rosewood, padauk, limba, wenge, oak, and many more. What you see in photos is only one example. Email or call for current availability.

Horn Mount & Cradle

A digitally-engineered polymer composite cradle with gyroid damping. Ensures perfect horn alignment, eliminates vibration, and maintains a stable acoustic reference. Used across all Shinjitsu models for consistency.

Rabbet Joint Strength

  • Increased long-grain glue surface for exceptional bonding
  • Mechanical lock that keeps panels square and rigid
  • Self-aligning for clean, repeatable construction

Visible end-grain is intentional — honest joinery on display.
