Horn X 2PRO Engine with Foundation Cabinet (PAIR)
Horn X2PRO + Foundation Cabinet
A Complete Full-Range Horn System — No Tools. No Guesswork.
The module is mounted directly to the cabinet floor, lifting and smoothing the low-end response of the Mark Audio CHR-120 extended-range driver. Tuned to the low 30 Hz region, the Foundation pairs seamlessly with Horn X2 to form a coherent, full-range system.
Each cabinet includes premium copper terminals on an 18 mm carbon-fiber backplate. Inside, Mil-Spec silver-over-copper wiring preserves signal integrity from amplifier to driver.
Setup is straightforward: place Horn X2 on top of the Foundation, connect your amplifier to the Horn’s center terminals, and link the outer terminals to the cabinet inputs. No soldering, no modification — simply music, perfectly integrated.
The Horn X2PRO resistor can be adjusted to match your room and taste. Capacitors are pre-selected for ideal crossover balance, with options for Clarity CSA (extended, transparent highs) or Mundorf EVO Oil (smooth and refined treble).
Note: The Foundation Cabinet is built exclusively for Horn X2 and is not sold separately.

Cabinet Construction & Joinery
All Shinjitsu Audio speaker cabinets are built from ¾-inch Baltic Birch plywood — never MDF.
Baltic Birch offers superior damping and strength through its multi-layer cross-grain construction (13 plies per 18 mm panel). It resists flex and ringing for cleaner sound and long-term stability.
Rabbet Joint Strength
- Increased Glue Surface Area — the L-shaped notch provides long-grain bonding for superior adhesion.
- Mechanical Interlock — shouldered design resists racking forces and keeps panels square.
- Easy Alignment — self-registering during assembly for tight fits and repeatable accuracy.
- Applications — used in fine cabinetry and speaker frames where strength and precision matter.
End grain is visible by design - a by-product of true joinery and honest construction.
Why We Don’t Use Veneer
Veneer averages only 0.5 mm (1⁄50 in.) thick — easily damaged and impossible to repair once cut through. By contrast, the outer layer of Baltic Birch is about 1.5 mm (1⁄16 in.) thick — three times stronger and resistant to moderate scratches that can be sanded and refinished at home.
We prioritize strength, damping, and serviceability over “pretty and weak.”
$2,995 / pair
This price reflects the precision of a modular system — handcrafted cabinetry, state-of-the-art components, and the flexibility to evolve with your future projects. Unlike fully integrated designs, Horn X2 + Foundation lets you re-position or reuse the horn module as your system grows.
