Little Hiro – Full Horn System, No Assembly Required

Want the sound of the Horn X2, but don’t want to build or modify a speaker? The Little Hiro is for you. It’s the only full speaker system we offer — handcrafted, pre-assembled, and ready to play.

  • ✔ Built-in Horn X2 module (Beyma + B&C)
  • ✔ Premium MarkAudio woofer
  • ✔ Tuned crossover, zero guesswork
  • ✔ No pairing, no soldering, no setup

We designed the Little Hiro for those who love what we do — but want a turnkey solution. Every pair is built, tuned, and tested by hand using the same world-class components found in our Horn X2 system.

🔊 The Sound

Fast, open, and shockingly dynamic — the Little Hiro delivers horn realism and detail with none of the usual harshness. You’ll hear voices float, cymbals shimmer, and instruments lock into space. And because it's 93 dB sensitive with a stable 8-ohm load, it plays beautifully with tube amps, low-watt designs, and solid-state gear alike.

⚙️ What’s Inside

  • ✔ B&C ME20 aluminum horn
  • ✔ Beyma CD171 FE/PK compression driver
  • ✔ MarkAudio woofer (paper cone)
  • ✔ Hand-built crossover using Clarity, Jantzen, and metal film components
  • ✔ CNC-milled cabinet with Baltic birch + solid hardwood faceplate

Cabinet size: 16" H × 10" W × 13" D
Ported for full-range response down to ~50Hz

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

1. How can a small speaker like this produce real bass?

The Little Hiro uses a carefully matched MarkAudio woofer in a tuned ported enclosure. It’s not a subwoofer, but it plays full-range down to around 50Hz — tight, tuneful, and clean. In most rooms, that’s more than enough to enjoy music without a sub.

2. Why is it $1995? I’ve seen cheaper speakers.

You’re not just buying a speaker — you’re buying a complete, horn-based system with pro-grade drivers, hand-built crossovers, and real hardwood construction. The Horn X2 top end alone uses components found in speakers that cost 3–4× as much. Plus, each pair is built and tested by hand — no shortcuts, no mass production.

3. What’s so special about a horn? Aren’t good dome tweeters just as clear?

Good domes can be clear — but they don’t have the speed, efficiency, or dynamic punch of a well-designed horn. The Horn X2’s compression driver reveals micro-details that domes tend to smear or soften. Once you hear it, it’s hard to go back.

4. What size room is this designed for?

Little Hiro works well in small to medium rooms — from dedicated listening spaces to living rooms and offices. If your room is over 400 sq ft and you like high volumes, you might eventually want a sub. But many of our customers are surprised by how much presence it delivers on its own.

5. Can I use it with low-watt amps?

Yes — that’s what it’s made for. At 93 dB sensitivity and a stable 8-ohm load, the Little Hiro pairs beautifully with 300B, EL84, Class A, and solid-state amps. You don’t need high wattage — you need quality, and the Hiro lets it shine.

6. Does it use the same horn as the Horn X2?

Yes — the same compression driver (Beyma CD171 FE/PK) and crossover principles. The only difference is that the Little Hiro uses the smaller B&C ME20 horn for compact integration, but it still delivers that same open, dynamic top end Horn X2 owners love.

7. Is this speaker made with real wood?

Yes. The cabinet is Baltic birch ply — not MDF — with a faceplate made from solid hardwood, hand-oiled and finished. No vinyl wraps, no fake grains. It’s the real thing, inside and out.

8. Can I upgrade it later?

You won’t need to — but yes. The horn section is removable, so you can swap in a different cabinet, woofer, or even reuse the Horn X2 system down the road if you want to build something bigger.

9. Do you offer custom finishes or internal part upgrades?

Yes — if you want a specific capacitor brand (like Mundorf EVO Oil) or a certain wood species, just ask. We’ll build it the way you want it, subject to availability.

10. What if I don’t like it?

No pressure. Try it at home. If it doesn’t fit your space or sound, return it in original condition within 30 days. We stand behind what we make — and we want you to be thrilled with what you hear.
